Facebook test new feature lets some users see Instagram stories on FB

View Instagram Stories on FB

Recently, some Facebook users noticed that they can now view the Instagram stories on FB. Facebook is always encouraged for cross-posting of Instagram stories to Facebook. It will help to build momentum for its own version of the format. But in the new test Facebook users can directly view the Instagram stories.

Stories differentiate with colors

Profile photos encircle with a color which helps you to differentiate the stories whether they are Instagram story or Facebook stories. Facebook stories will encircle with blue color and Instagram have the same pink and orange hues of the app icon.

Who can see your stories?

The first option is your stories will show to only your Instagram followers who have linked their Facebook account and who have already seen your stories on Instagram. You will also be able to manage in settings that ‘who can see’ your stories “People on Facebook who are not following you on Instagram cannot see your story”.

Testing feature with limited community

Matt Navarra confirmed from a Facebook spokesman that they are testing a new feature that gives the options to people to view stories of Instagram on Facebook profiles. And he also noted that Instagram users have an option to hide their stories from Facebook. The spokesman said that this feature will have all privacy settings. He further said that this is a limited test and they are listening to feedback from the community.

We can say that this is another Facebook effort to bring both platforms closer together. Previously Facebook merged Facebook messenger and Instagram chat.
